Steve Waylon grew up in a small village in central New Brunswick, Canada called Chipman. He presents a fresh sound in today's Country music with his "Driven Country" music style. Known to some as the "Wild One" of the east coast music scene, he seems to stop at nothing when it comes to making his audience part of the show. Steve's music style is comparable to the likes of, Travis Tritt, Montgomery - Gentry and Lynyrd Skynyrd, and he offers a very high energy show in all his performances.
Steve's music career started when he played drums and sang harmonies on stage for his Dad at the age of 15. He remembers the excitement of looking out into the crowd of 150 people, but to him it felt like 150,000. Watching the crowd and their reactions, "I was hooked" he says . Shortly after this he started a band with some friends and began his own musical journey.
Traveling across the country and extensively throughout eastern Canada, Steve has quickly earned himself recognition as one of Canada's hard working Country artist. Steve's music has also been received very well in Switzerland where he travels to do Shows a couple times a year. He continues to work new venues there and looks forward to expanding his music to more European Countries. To date Steve has done shows with such acts as, Doc Walker, Emerson Drive, Lorrie Morgan, Sammy Kershaw, Jim Witter, Matt Minglewood, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, to name a few. In early 2008 Steve released a CD titled "Steve Waylon Live". This was a live CD recorded at a concert which offers a look into a wild night with the driven Country Artist. This project also helped him prepare for the next step which was a new full length album. In June of 2009 Steve released his first studio album titled "State of Mind". To date that album has produced two singles. The first single "No Deposit No Return"climbed to the #65 on C.M.N. Top 100 National Chart. The second single" I Run This Joint" (available at RDR) also sits on the CMN top 100 with another single release the summer of 2010.
Steve always finds time to give back to the community by supporting such charities as Brush of Hope (Kidney Foundation), IWK Hospital Telethon on CTV, local blood drives, and many more. He has also played such benefit's as the CCMA's benefit in support of local Boys and Girls Club with country star Aaron Pritchett as well as the ECMA Sound Waves Program which brings Artist and music to children in the school system.
With an unmatched stage presence and persona, his personality and love of people are very evident in his stage performances and in his song writing. Steve Waylon is working on bringing his brand of music to the world by live performances, videos and recordings so keep an eye out for him and come out to be part the show.
